Smart Logistics Packing Line

Logistics Packing LineStop cartoning, weighing and palletizing by hand

Automatically packs inner boxes into cartons, seals, applies shipping marks, weighs and palletizes. The smart logistics packing line is carton-packing equipment at the shipping end of the logistics warehouse. From inner-box infeed to palletized cartons, seven automated steps handle carton erecting, cushioning, cartoning, vision and weight inspection, sealing, labeling and traceability, and pallet stacking; inner boxes of different sizes can be mixed, with mixed-run parameters switched automatically to production needs and connectivity to ERP/MES systems.

Proven benefits
Automatic weight and shipping-mark checks cut returns and reshipments from wrong or missing cartons (E); heavy carton handling and palletizing move to the equipment (S).
Limits
Automation isn't layoffs: freed-up staff move to shipping scheduling, handling exception cartons and equipment rounds. Labor benefits use pre- and post-deployment shift staffing as the baseline.

Where it fitsWhere the line fits

It sits at the shipping end of the logistics warehouse. After the inner-box automatic packing machine at the line end bags, folds and boxes the products, the inner boxes are stored in the warehouse; at shipment they're picked by order, and the smart logistics packing line packs different-sized inner boxes into cartons, seals and labels them and stacks them on pallets. Most customers deploy the two sections separately, but they can also be linked into one line.

Labor & work designHow many fewer packers, and what do they do?

Combined with the upstream inner-box automatic packing machine, shipping and packing staff drops 40–50% on average; the best case, on three shifts, went from 36 people to 6. Actual benefits are estimated for each customer's line.

FAQCommon questions

Can the smart logistics packing line pack inner boxes of different sizes into one carton?

Yes. Inner boxes of different sizes can be mixed, and the system switches mixed-run parameters automatically to production needs without stopping the line to reset.

Which carton packing steps can be automated?

From inner-box infeed, carton erecting and bottom sealing, cushioning, vision and weight inspection, sealing, labeling and traceability to pallet stacking — all seven steps can be automated.

Can the smart logistics packing line connect to ERP and MES?

Yes. The line connects to ERP and MES systems with real-time production monitoring.

Does it have to be deployed together with the front-section packing machine?

No. The front section is at the line end and the back section at the warehouse, usually with the warehouse in between, so most customers deploy them separately; they can also be linked into one line for full automation from product to pallet.
